Infectious Disease Modeling 101 For Public Health

In this workshop, we will provide a broad overview of the modeling methods used in infectious disease modeling, as well as examples of their applications to actual public health problems.

By the end of the lesson, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the fundamentals of infectious disease modeling. 
  2. Describe how a scientific question is translated into model results. 
  3. Describe the ways that models are used in public health. 
  4. Define the concept of uncertainty in modeling.
