This course content was originally conducted as a virtual learning series for local and territorial recipients of the CDC cooperative agreement Overdose Data to Action (OD2A). Participants met monthly from January 2021-May 2021. During the course, participants were led through four(4) lessons and a capstone experience focusing on evaluation principles. The experience has been converted into an online course to share these robust drug overdose surveillance principles with a larger audience.

This work is supported in part by Cooperative Agreement Number 1 NU38OT0002927-021-00 awarded to the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The content was developed by Allyson Kelley and Associates PLLC and additional input was provided by Somya Mohanty, Ph.D., and Prashanti Manda, Ph.D. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the official priorities of the Department of Health and Human Services nor does mention of trade names, commercial practices, or organizations imply endorsement by the U.S government.
